Qualifying Guidelines
All qualifying performances for running events must be made on a
standard indoor or 400m outdoor track.
Qualifying marks must be made and verifiable in a competition with
at least five athletes competing in the given event.
All qualifying marks must be attained on or after Monday, July 5,
2007 through the meet's entry deadline.
Times shown above are Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) times. A
manual time may also be used for qualifying. Qualifying manual times are
always the F.A.T. qualifying time minus the last zero for events 800m
and longer, the F.A.T time minus 0.14 for events 300m-400m, and the
F.A.T time minus 0.24 for events 200m and shorter.
Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be F.A.T. times. Hand
times must be rounded up to the next tenth of a second.
Composite scores may be computed for combined events using point
scores for the athlete's best performance in each individual event
during the qualifying window.
Imperial conversions for metric field event marks can be computed
using the
field event mark conversion calculator.

Qualifying Guidelines
All qualifying performances for running events must be made on a
standard indoor or 400m outdoor track.
Qualifying marks must be made in accordance with USATF Rule 149 and
verifiable in one of the following:
- USATF- or IAAF-sanctioned events that prescribe to or exceed
USATF competition rules,
- events at collegiate meets that prescribe to or exceed USATF
competition rules, or
- high school meets, except dual and triangular meets
- meets or events that meet a minimum for competitiveness set
by the Chair of the Sport Committee and determined to be valid
by the USATF staff member responsible for verification
All qualifying marks must be attained during the qualifying windows
shown above.
Fully automatic timing (F.A.T.) is the only method of timing
acceptable for qualifying marks for events equal to or shorter than 200
meters.
A manual time may be used for qualifying for events of 400 meters
and longer only if no F.A.T. qualifying time exists for the race during
the qualifying period. A manual time may not supersede any F.A.T.
qualifying time for an event. Qualifying manual times, for eligible
events, are the F.A.T. qualifying time without the last zero for events
2000m and longer; the F.A.T time minus 0.14 for events 400m - 1 Mile.
The seed time for a submitted manual time will be in accordance with
USATF Rule 76.
Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be F.A.T. times.
The Sport Committee Chair will adjust the standards, where
necessary, 45 days prior to the competition, based on received entries
at that time. Therefore, early submission of an entry close to the
standard is advised.
All performances are subject to verification.
