HISTORY
The Central Florida Gliders is a youth track & field, and cross country club serving boys and girls in Seminole and Orange Counties, and throughout the state of Florida. Founded in 1989 by Craig Wise, the Gliders and Gliders' alumni have achieved success in local, state, national, and international competition.
PURPOSE & FUNCTION
The purpose of the Central Florida Gliders is to motivate the athlete to aspire to achieve leadership, discipline and integrity through the sport of track and field and cross country. The individual who makes the attempt is as much a part of the group as he or she who may attain the highest level of achievement. No one rides the bench!
CLUB STATUS
The Club is a self-governing, self-supporting organization certified in the state of Florida as a non-profit corporation and exempt from Federal Income Tax since it is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible. The club is run by volunteer coaches, volunteer assistants and parents. Corporate and individual donations, grants and sponsorships are key to our success and are greatly appreciated.
